Scattered leaves

The University of Saskatchewan is attempting to digitally reunite 50 medieval manuscripts that were dismembered by a 20th century collector. A certain Otto Egge from Cleveland took one page from each book, put them in boxes, and sold the boxes as exemplars of medieval calligraphy and illumination. Now the U of S is bringing together the owners of most of these boxes in a project to digitize the pages and virtually reconstruct the books. [go see links and image]
